Dr. Arshad M. Khanani, MD, MA, FASRS

Dr. Arshad M. Khanani, MD, MA, FASRS, is a prominent, board-certified retina specialist known for his innovative work in advancing treatments for retinal diseases. He currently serves as the Managing Partner, Director of Clinical Research, and Director of Fellowship at Sierra Eye Associates, as well as a Clinical Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

A leader in clinical research, Dr. Khanani has served as a principal investigator over 140 clinical trials for novel treatments with new biology. His efforts have contributed significantly to the development of breakthrough therapies for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and geographic atrophy.

Dr. Khanani has published more than 175 articles in prestigious journals and is the founder of Clinical Trials at the Summit, a meeting designed to promote collaboration and innovation in retina research. He is an esteemed member of both the Macula Society and the Retina Society and has been honored with numerous prestigious awards. These include the Macula Society Lawrence J. Singerman Medal (2025), the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award (2024), the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) Presidential Award (2024), and the ASRS Presidents’ Young Investigator Award (2021). In recognition of his impact, he was named among the Top 10 ophthalmology researchers in the world by The Ophthalmologist Power List 2025.
